Job title: 3D Modeling Technician  Reports to: Design Supervisor  Supervisory responsibilities: None.   Summary/objective: Dienamic Tooling Systems (DTS) is looking for a 3D Modeling Technician to add to their team. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and have some level of experience with 3D scanning and modeling.   Essential functions:  <ul><li>Capture FARO scan data on-site and at customer facilities using laser scanners and survey tools. </li><li>Create 3D models for tooling needs </li><li>Process laser scan data, including: cleaning, segmenting large areas, archiving raw and processes scans, and exporting into customer specified formats </li><li>Work closely with company leadership, clients, engineers, planners, and other industry professionals </li><li>Maintain proper care of the company equipment; ensure security and safety for all equipment and accessories. </li></ul>Required competency, education, and experience:  <ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Degree or certificate in Machine Tool Technology or other Engineering related field.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Experience with Solidworks </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to perform quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to adhere to all industry standards in design </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Excellent verbal communication skills </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Strong attention to detail and ability to work with high degree of accuracy </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Strong interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside the company in a professional manner and the ability to work in a team environment </li></ul>Preferred education and experience:  <ul><li style="margin-left:8px">3D Scanning experience </li></ul><ul><li style="margin-left:8px">General understanding of the Tool and Die Industry </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Experience with other 3D Modeling Software </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Understanding of GD&T </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Print reading experience </li></ul>Work environment: Manufacturing environment.  Physical demands:  <ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to use a computer for a prolonged amount of time </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to use hands, wrists, fingers. </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to reach with hands and arms. </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Employee must possess visual acuity to operate necessary machines and computers. </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away. </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to use fingers to grasp and move very small and large objects. </li></ul>Position type and expected hours of work: Full-time, day shift. Some overtime may be required when workloads are heavy.   Travel: Less than 5%.
