The Power BI Lead Developer is a role withing the Finance department where hands on experience designing, building, and deploying Power BI solutions is required. A successful candidate has a passion for consulting with our internal stakeholders to understand their needs, visual storytelling, and modeling data to deliver Power BI based solutions. This position brings and maintains in-depth knowledge on visual design and data modeling best practices within Power BI, performance tuning, deployment, and architecture planning, as well as being an expert in SQL.  Job Duties:<ul><li>Leads the design, development, and implementation of the company’s BI architecture and strategy</li><li>Collaborates with data governance team in developing data modeling standards, standardized datasets, and governance frameworks</li><li>Serves as the technical authority for Power BI development</li><li>Creates reusable components and templates for Power BI development</li><li>Understands business requirements and design data models to transform raw data into meaningful insights and compelling stories</li><li>Creates effective and compelling “art of the possible” presentations to help highlight solutions</li><li>Builds visualizations that take complex information and make it more accessible, understandable, and usable to derive insights and enable better business decisions</li><li>Takes branding standards and creates intentional design choices, color palette, and report design standards, choosing appropriate locations for objects with intention, and utilizing fonts and colors to design easily consumable reports </li><li>Explores large data sets and relational databases, perform analyses and identify unique storytelling opportunities</li><li>Implements modern data visualization methodologies and maintains an up-to-date knowledge of data visualization approaches</li><li>Imports, cleans and analyzes large data sets from disparate data sources</li><li>Creates relationships between data and develop tabular data models</li><li>Creates complex Data Analysis Expression (DAX) measures to support the data analysis needs of visualizations</li><li>Maps data models to source systems and track entire data lineage</li><li>Configures incremental refresh logic for reports and understands how to design a model which supports incremental refresh, including writing and deploying the XML for Analysis (XMLA) commands to customize incremental refresh</li><li>Creates data model documentation explaining algorithms, parameters, models, and relations</li><li>Develops training documentation for Power BI reports</li><li>Collaborates with data engineers in ingesting and warehousing data to support data models </li><li>Serves as a leader to other team members, reviewing proposed solution designs, conducting code reviews, and troubleshooting advanced technical issues</li><li>Manages workspaces, user permissions and deploys Power BI apps</li><li>Designs and supports complex Row Level Security (RLS) within Power BI</li><li>Maintains a broad and current understanding of advancements and best practices in the design and development of data analytics solutions</li><li>Stays up-to-date on Power BI monthly updates</li><li>Trains and mentors team members on Power BI best practices</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul>Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Education:<ul><li>Bachelors degree, required;
