Performs maintenance and preventative maintenance on all hospital equipment, systems and structures, including but not limited to windows/screens, doors/hardware, locks, walls and floors, painting, concrete work, snow removal/lawn care equipment, dietary and kitchen, inspects, operates and maintains steam/hot water boilers and systems components, plumbing systems and components, electrical systems and components, hospital non-life support equipment such as wheel chairs, beds and televisions. As assigned completes inspections and tests of vehicles, elevator phones, negative pressure rooms, portable fire extinguishers, fire systems, PI valves, semi-annual shop electrical and equipment safety test, monthly generator/transfer switch test, battery powered lights, fire department connections and participates in monthly fire drills with the hospital Safety/Emergency Manager.
