The main job tasks include: Independently assess patient needs and develop individualized plans of care using evidence-based nursing practice and appropriate growth and development principles Implement the clinician's plan of care while providing safe, ethical, efficient, and patient-centered nursing care Document, evaluate, and revise patient care plans based on ongoing assessment findings and patient response to treatment Coordinate patient care throughout the entire episode of care, from assessment through discharge, to support continuity, safety, and optimal outcomes Perform or appropriately delegate technical aspects of patient care, including phlebotomy, intravenous cannulation, medication administration, oxygen therapy, EKGs, assistance with sterile procedures, and procedural sedation support Operate and interpret telemetry, cardiac monitoring systems, rhythm recognition equipment, defibrillators, and other emergency medicine equipment consistent with role competency Apply critical thinking, clinical judgment, prioritization, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced acute ambulatory care environment Schedule Work hours are based on clinic staffing and operational needs and may include a mixture of day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. The RN independently assesses patient needs, develops and evaluates individualized plans of care, implements nursing interventions, and coordinates care in collaboration with physicians, advanced practice clinicians (APCs), paramedics, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals.
