As a Debt Negotiator (Creditor Escalations), you'll help clients regain control of their financial futures by negotiating directly with creditors and law firms to secure favorable settlements and resolve accounts with integrity and efficiency.

OverviewAs a Debt Negotiator (Creditor Escalations), you'll help clients regain control of their financial futures by negotiating directly with creditors and law firms to secure favorable settlements and resolve accounts with integrity and efficiency. The Debt Negotiator (Creditor Escalations) role centers on high-volume creditor negotiations conducted in accordance with the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act), with the goal of reaching settlements that are in the best interest of our clients.You'll manage client files, research account details, and maintain momentum by averaging about 4 hours of talk time and 20-30 outbound calls per day to keep accounts moving toward resolution. This is a full-time remote role with an expected start date of 7/27/2026.Responsibilities<ul><li>Negotiate client debts to completion by communicating client hardships, reviewing client savings to determine funds necessary to complete settlements, and obtaining a settlement that will halt legal action</li><li>Establish and maintain contact relationships with law firms</li><li>Analyze client portfolios to determine the best strategy to help clients achieve financial freedom as quickly as possible</li><li>Review client''s banking account to determine funds necessary and available to execute the program</li><li>Responsible for achieving monthly KPIs set by management</li><li>Gather and submit required legal documentation for approval and payment of accounts</li><li>Liaise with law firms for client account data and document exchanges</li><li>Work with attorneys and paralegals to resolve accounts where the collection effort has been escalated to a law firm</li><li>Communicate with creditors via phone or email to get up-to-date information, including litigation information in service to provide client debt relief</li><li>Work with other members of the team to ensure efficient process</li><li>Manage confidential information/documents with a high level of discretion</li><li>Perform other duties as directed by manager(s)</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor''s degree preferred, or relevant work experience</li><li>Experience working in a metrics based/goals driven environment preferred</li><li>Analytical mindset with a strong business acumen, professionalism, and communication skills</li><li>High energy, competitive, articulate, passionate, and motivated to provide best in class service for clients</li><li>Desire to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment</li><li>Multi-tasker with great organizational skills</li><li>Ability to easily build rapport with clients and creditors</li></ul>National Debt Relief Role Qualifications:<ul><li>Computer competency and ability to work with a computer</li><li>Prior experience using a CRM platform (Salesforce preferred)</li><li>Prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously</li><li>Exceptional written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Punctuality expected, ready to report to work on a consistent basis</li><li>Attain and maintain high performance expectations on a monthly basis</li><li>Work in a fast-paced, high-volume setting</li><li>Use and navigate multiple computer systems with exceptional multi-tasking skills</li><li>Remain calm and professional during difficult discussions</li><li>Take constructive feedback</li><li>Available for full-time position, overtime eligible if classified non-exempt</li></ul>Compensation InformationOur salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for each position across the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This good faith pay range is provided in compliance with NYC law and the laws of other jurisdictions that may require a salary range in job postings. Base rate for this position starts at $19.81/hr ($41,204.80 annually). Role is eligible for performance-based bonuses which bring total average compensation to $80,000 annually. Produces an affordable and predictable network for customers and business partners. Evaluates and negotiates contracts in compliance with company contract templates, reimbursement structure standards, and other key process controls. Performs other duties as assigned.Key Accountabilities<ul><li>Contract Lifecycle and Management</li><li><ul><li>Negotiate and draft contracts: Negotiate terms with providers, ensuring they align with Medica's financial goals and standard template agreements.</li><li>Manage contract renewals and amendments: Track critical dates, manage the renewal process, and handle amendments as needed.</li><li>Maintain contracts: Keep contractual language and fee schedules up-to-date with current medical policy changes and reimbursement structures.</li><li>Oversee the entire contract lifecycle: Manage all stages, from initiation and negotiation through execution, monitoring, and closure. </li></ul></li><li>Provider Relationships and Network Management</li><li><ul><li>Build and maintain relationships: Develop and nurture strong relationships with providers, including high-level representatives of key contracting entities.</li><li>Resolve issues: Manage provider relations, address issues, and lead dispute resolution processes.</li><li>Conduct performance assessments: Regularly evaluate the performance of assigned networks and providers to identify areas for improvement.</li><li>Support network growth: Participate in activities related to network adequacy, provider recruitment, and marketing for providers. </li></ul></li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field</li><li>7 years of related work experience beyond degree</li></ul>Skills and Abilities<ul><li>Experience negotiating contracts with various methodologies i.e. Value-Based and ACO arrangements</li><li>Experience building relationships and establishing trust at all levels</li><li>Health plan operations and/or provider operations experience </li><li>Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills</li><li>Proven track record of cultivating and maintaining effective, collaborative external relationships where the parties trust information that's conveyed</li><li>A proven track record as a successful contract negotiator for health care services, provider or health plan</li><li>Flexibility and creativity in developing effective contracting terms</li><li>Knowledge of provider contracting components and strategies such as but not limited to risk-based contracting, financial models, operational impact and data analytics</li><li>Demonstrated understanding of complex financial arrangements and quality programs across health care products</li><li>Strong financial, analytical and problem solving skills, and understanding of legal documents</li><li>Strategic-thinking skills with the ability to conceptualize a wide range of scenarios and the ability to analyze each scenario to come up with the most viable option</li></ul>This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite at our Omaha, NE, office, Madison, WI, Minnetonka, MN, or St. Louis MO, on average, 3 days per week.The full salary grade for this position is $100,300 - $172,000. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $100,300 - $150,465. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
