SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Possession of a license and current registration to practice as a Radiologic Technologist as issued by the New York State Department of Health at the time of appointment and maintenance throughout duration of appointment; Possession of certification to administer contrast media intravenously issued by New York State Department of Health, in accordance with New York Codes, Rules and Regulations, Title 10, Part 89.40, at time of permanent appointment and maintenance throughout duration of appointment; Possession of American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Certification at time of appointment and maintenance throughout duration of appointment; Possession of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification at time of appointment and maintenance throughout duration of appointment. A Computed Tomography Technologist performs technical and quality assurance functions associated with Computed Tomography and radiographic procedures using CT and other essential equipment; Performs CT images to include pre and post processing of images as required by department protocol; Sets up radiographic room for CT procedures and prepares the necessary equipment to perform basic and complex CT imaging studies using a pressure injector, catheters, needles, guide wires, contrast media, anesthetic, etc.
