Provides comprehensive care for pediatric patients with acute and chronic infectious diseases, including but not limited to complicated bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections; immunocompromised host infections; congenital and perinatal infections; fever of unknown origin; and antimicrobial stewardship–related consultations. Working collaboratively with pediatric infectious diseases physicians, fellows, residents, pharmacists, and other interdisciplinary team members, the APP delivers high-quality clinical care, participates in education and quality improvement initiatives, and supports the academic mission of the University of Chicago.
