p>Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to): • Collecting medical histories (diagnosed medical conditions, medications, allergies, hospitalizations, etc.) • Preparing patients for examinations • Collect and record vital signs accurately • Relay urgent requests and emergencies to the provider as appropriate • Collect data and address immunization status of employees • Coordinate ordering of lab tests and immunizations when needed • Track compliance with initial and annual employee health requirements as directed • Inform provider of any renewals and areas of concern • Assist in monitoring of employees who have a work injury or contagious illness • Contact provider immediately if conditions change for quick reassessment • Instructing patients about medication and special diets, providing brochures and literature, and explaining treatment procedures to patients as directed by the provider • Providing outstanding customer service, patient care, and overall concern for patient wellbeing and safety • Assisting the physician during examinations • Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens • Performing basic laboratory tests • Preparing medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections-including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant) • Transmitting prescription refills as directed • Phlebotomy • Wound care and changing dressings • Follows HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality • Maintaining accurate inventory of valid and unexpired medical and general supplies, order as needed • Keeps rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, washes and dries instruments used, and prepares sterilization as required • Ensure medical storage systems such as lab storage, vaccine storage, medication dispensary, etc., are well organized, labeled, safe, and sanitary.
Support medical providers and perform clinical duties such as welcoming visitors and patients, taking medical histories, assisting providers during exams, phlebotomy, collecting lab specimens, basic lab testing, preparing and administering injections and vaccinations, and medical supplies organization and stocking.
