Performs all duties and responsibilities with professional decorum and in accordance with County policies, procedures, and safety practices, Prepares and manages civil cases for trial, including but not limited to, responding to complaints and claims, conducting research, interviewing affected parties, preparing required legal and court documents, preparing, and arguing briefs, and attending court proceedings, Conducts necessary legal research to accurately respond to inquiries concerning civil matters from County elected appointed officials, managers, and departments of the County, Provides legal counsel and advice to elected and appointed County officials, managers, and departments, Conducts research of legal precedents, federal laws, state statutes, and County ordinances and represents the County's interest in court, Drafts, revises and maintains ordinance language as required, Reviews, tracks, advises, and investigates as necessary, torts submitted to the County or escalated personnel matters, Negotiates case settlements, and is responsible for post-conviction restitution civil assets and restitution, Advises on general communications to the public related to legal matters affecting the County, When requested, attends Board of Commissioner meetings, contract meetings, hearings, or other meetings on behalf of the Prosecutor or Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Assists as needed or where requested with some criminal, juvenile or other case load assignments according to the needs of the Prosecutor or department, May share on-call responsibilities after regular hours to respond to emergency situations, and.
