Perform repairs and services on all makes and models of generator setsInspections, repairs, services, and start-up load bank test requirements on equipmentTroubleshooting equipment and servicing generator components, including alternators, wiring harnesses, safety devices, shutdown switches, and battery systemsApply proper engine technical skills in inspection, disassembly, failure analysis, assembly, diagnosis, and engine operating performance testsIdentify the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps, determine corrective action through inspection of failed partsRepair and troubleshooting engines such as Kohler, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, MTU, and VolvoCommunicate all information to customers in an accurate, factual mannerDeliver exceptional customer service to internal and external customersEnsure the work scope has been performed and the unit is operationalWrite clear and concise service reportsMust have the ability to operate in a constant state of alertness and in a safe mannerMust be able to travel, in a company service vehicle, throughout the local countiesMust be able to be on-call for emergency servicesResponsible for vehicle safety maintenanceMaintain assigned vehicle inventory and able to travel throughout the local counties Qualifications and Competencies: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and minimum 3 years' experience in the repair and maintenance of generator systems, from 8kW to 2800 kW preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experienceGraduation from a Technical school is desired, including generators, diesel, power gen, electric power, relay or substation technology, etc. Today, IPS has the industry''s largest network of remanufacturing locations, distribution centers, and field service offices across North America and the United Kingdom, serving over 30,000 customer locations across a wide range of end uses, including power generation, utilities, water and wastewater, petrochemicals, air separation, oil and gas, metals, mining, paper, aggregates, cement, hospitals, universities, commercial buildings, and data centers.
