<div><strong>Class Title: </strong> Accountant II (PDS)</div><div><strong>Department:</strong> Finance</div><div><strong>Supervisor:</strong> Director of Finance</div><div><strong>Supervises:</strong> None</div><div> </div><div><strong>Class Characteristics:</strong><br/>Under the general direction of the Director of Finance, prepares and maintains accurate bookkeeping records for the LCADD PDS Program and other programs as needed, including state and federally funded grants; prepares payroll; maintenance of employee files; performs other duties as required.</div><div> </div><div><strong>General Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></div><div><strong>Essential</strong>:</div><ul><li>Maintain separate general ledger chart of accounts for PDS.</li><li>Codes invoices to proper grant element; matches invoices to purchase orders; follow-up on problem related to invoices.</li><li>Reconciles bank statements for programs other than PDS.</li><li>Make bank deposits as often as necessary.</li><li>Assists public with phone inquiries.</li><li>Draft general office correspondence, assist staff with day-to-day problems.</li><li>Types and fills out miscellaneous forms, labels, etc.; set up files.</li><li>Prepares required records and reports.</li><li>Checks budget to expenditures on PDS program.</li><li>Perform other duties as requested.</li></ul><div><strong> </strong></div><div><strong>Non-essential:</strong> None.</div><div> </div><div><strong>DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></div><div><strong>Training and Experience:</strong> Associates degree in accounting or related field supplemented by 2 years related work experience, preferably in a not-for-profit organization;
