Responsible for receiving transport requests for air and ground medical transport, and for initiating mobilization of appropriate teams and resources depending on the needs of the patient and/or requesting agencies. Communicates between pre-hospital health care providers, hospital health care providers, law enforcement, and fire department personnel.

Overview:
<p style="margin:0px">Serves as a communications specialist between external and internal customers of DHART and D-H. Responsible for receiving transport requests for air and ground medical transport, and for initiating mobilization of appropriate teams and resources depending on the needs of the patient and/or requesting agencies.</p>

Responsibilities:
<ol><li> Coordinates all transport request information.</li><li> Completes computer data entry.</li><li> Provides Flight/Ground following of designated vehicles while out on transport.</li><li> Acts as an agent of Metro Aviation, Inc., Operational Control Center.</li><li> Activates and coordinates the Post Accident Incident Plan.</li><li> Communicates between pre-hospital health care providers, hospital health care providers, law enforcement, and fire department personnel.</li><li> Receives and relays medical information between requesting and receiving personnel and facilities.</li><li> Monitors, interprets, and communicates weather information to the DHART teams.</li><li> Performs other duties as required or assigned.</li></ol>

Qualifications:
<ul><li> High school diploma or the equivalent required.</li><li> Must possess good customer service skills.</li><li> Must be able to multitask and function independently.</li><li> Excellent verbal and written communications skills with a great attention to detail required.</li><li> Must be proficient with typing on a computer.</li><li> Prior EMS experience or medical background preferred.</li><li> Previous aviation, communication, and/or hospital experience preferred.</li><li> Prior dispatch or emergency medical dispatching (EMD) experience preferred.</li></ul>

Required Licensure/Certifications:
<ul><li> Certified Flight Communicator certification required within 2 years of hire.</li></ul>
