Job summary:Perform a variety of custodial and general housekeeping duties involving the care, cleaning and stocking of supplies in College buildings, offices and residential areas. Provide customer service to assist in promoting a hospitable environment and positive perceptions of College facilities. This position is considered to be essential during emergency situations and the incumbent is subject to being requested to report to work.Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>Maintain the safety, cleanliness and order of indoor campus facilities to include cleaning floors, walls, furniture and windows in all campus buildings, student dorms and apartments.</li><li>Conduct routine maintenance and upkeep to include changing light bulbs and clock batteries, resetting clocks, filling/refilling toilet paper/paper towels, and other related activities.</li><li>Maintain the cleanliness of flooring and furniture in campus facilities to include stripping and refinishing of hard floor surfaces, buffing and burnishing of hard floors, operating shampoo and extraction equipment for furniture and carpeting, and identifying and removing all spots and stains in carpets.</li><li>Clean campus facilities after bio-hazards and/or traumatic events; properly dispose of all trash and bio-hazardous materials.</li><li>Clean custodial tools and equipment; inform supervisors of damage or replacement needs; complete and submit all necessary paperwork, records and logs, as necessary.</li><li>Maintain the safety, cleanliness and order of outdoor campus facilities to include cleaning building entrance ways, balconies, trash receptacles, and College-owned properties off-campus; remove snow and ice from building entrances, steps and walkways.</li><li>Unlock entrances to buildings and classrooms.</li><li>Prepare for College events and activities to include lining and setting-up event areas and securing appropriate seating arrangements for events; pull out bleachers for sporting events and assist with lighting; operate elevators, as needed and monitor events to ensure safety and cleanliness.</li><li>Provide hospitality services and perform housekeeping duties during the summer period to include cleaning rooms; changing linens; making beds; and stocking towels, soap and cups. Facilitate linen exchange. Ensure timely and efficient turnover of facilities to accommodate incoming guests.</li><li>Develop and demonstrate multicultural awareness and contribute to cultivating an inclusive, diverse and respectful College community. Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students and visitors to the College. PlumberUnder the supervision of the Facility Manager, this position is responsible for the more complex and critical Medical Air, Steam, and Plumbing systems of the facility. This position involves the performance of a variety of building and maintenance repair tasks of a skilled and semi-skilled nature in the areas of environmental control, automated and mechanical equipment maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems. This position can be called back to work for equipment malfunctions at all hours and overtime work. Shift hours may change in certain projects to avoid or minimize patient care interruption.Job Responsibilities• Demonstrates an understanding of emergency procedures, fire drills, evacuation procedures, and internal disaster procedures as outlined in the fire safety policy.
• Knows personal role in the event of a fire while on duty.
• Exceeds understands fire alarm system and equipment.
• Can properly reset the system, demonstrates the ability to place certain points or zones on hold, and troubleshoot problems.
• Provides a safe environment, demonstrates alertness to areas needing attention, and avoids unsafe conditions such as wet flooring, blocked egress areas, etc.

• Ensures that all safety protective devices are in place and on all power equipment on a daily basis.

Exceeds keeps and active watch on all assigned inspections and certificates to avoid expiration.
Notifies supervisor as inspection nears.
Performs and documents equipment repairs and tests new and repaired equipment before it is put into service.
Trains staff in operation and repair of equipment.Responsibilities• Maintains the facilities medical vacuum, medical air, and medical gas systems.
• Assists associated mechanics and vendors with repairs.
• Submits completed work requests on a daily basis.
• Ensures all closed work orders are submitted on a daily basis at the end of shift.
• Provides comments to managers when anticipated work delays occur.
• Exceeds researches cost increases or labor scheduling conflicts and discusses with supervisor.
• Completes daily work orders as assigned by facility Managers in a timely manner.
• Exceeds completes all infection control work orders within 1 day of receiving.

This position requires the ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Requirements also include climbing, bending, and the ability to get into tight spaces while working off a ladder.Licensure
