Ensures ethical and legal nursing practice; provides safe, compassionate, accountable care; advocates for patients' wishes and end‑of‑life decisions; and independently conducts comprehensive assessments, prescribes medications and devices within scope, orders and interprets tests, and collaborates with physicians to implement comprehensive care plans. Advanced clinical practice in nursing includes the following components: assessment of patient health status, diagnostic testing, diagnoses, development of treatment plans, implementation of treatment plans, follow-up and evaluation of the patient's response to treatment, accurate documentation of the patient's status, and patient advocacy.
