Provide academic advising, planning, and other support for online students in areas of course selection, registration procedures, degree requirements, and student success services in conjunction with the Registrar and Dean of Online Education. Provide active, timely, and supportive academic advising to and communication with students, including follow through to non-responsive and non-registered applicants and returning students.

Proactively assist students with registration and academic questions and support students in problem solving regarding registration and related issues.Minimum Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree and two years' experience in student personnel services or related field.Required Skills<ul><li>Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with experience in higher education, advising, or customer service.</li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.</li><li>Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment using multiple databases and software.</li><li>Outstanding organizational skills.</li><li>High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with Jenzabar, , Canvas, and/or Slate a plus.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and follow through.</li></ul>Primary Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions<ul><li>Maintain working knowledge of college curriculum, policies, and college resources.</li><li>Utilize CRM (Slate) to effectively manage new student transition to enrollment.</li><li>Complete Transfer Evaluation Forms for new students within 48 hours of receipt of transcripts.</li><li>Provide active, timely, and supportive academic advising to and communication with students, including follow through to non-responsive and non-registered applicants and returning students</li><li>Record all advising notes in the appropriate systems.</li><li>Track student progress towards completion and proactively assist with student retention from term to term.</li><li>Provide outstanding customer service to current and potential students over the phone, in email correspondence and in person.</li><li>Respond promptly to student issues and guide/direct prospective and current students to appropriate offices or information sources at Columbia College.</li><li>Maintain and comply with Columbia College policies and procedures to support academic standards.</li><li>Maintain relationships with appropriate campus constituents.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li><li>Ability to work evening and weekend hours during peak advising periods.</li><li>Extended or non-standard hours are possible at start or after training.</li></ul>
