<em><strong>We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented </strong><strong>Assembler</strong><strong> to join our client's team on </strong><strong>4th Shift</strong><strong>. This position involves assembling electronic components, performing solder touch-up after SMT reflow, and applying conformal coatings. Summary:<br/>We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Engineer to lead the development of advanced mechanical components and <strong>brazed assemblies</strong> for aerospace and defense applications. This individual will be responsible for concept development, detailed design, DFM/DFA optimization, and support throughout the product lifecycle, with an emphasis on engineered brazed joints and precision-machined components.<br/>Key Responsibilities:<br/>•<br/>Lead mechanical design efforts for machined parts and brazed assemblies using CAD tools.<br/>•<br/>Apply engineering fundamentals to develop robust, lightweight, and thermally/mechanically efficient designs compliant with aerospace and defense standards.<br/>•<br/>Define and develop joint designs for high-temperature brazing, ensuring joint geometry, clearances, and material compatibility meet design and manufacturing requirements.<br/>•<br/>Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and materials engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.<br/>•<br/>Generate and maintain complete engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, specifications, and test plans.<br/>•<br/>Conduct FEA and tolerance analysis to validate design performance and durability under operating conditions (thermal, structural, vibrational).<br/>•<br/>Lead or contribute to design reviews, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.<br/>•<br/>Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.<br/>•<br/>Interface with customers and suppliers on technical issues, design intent, and product requirements.<br/>•<br/>Ensure all designs adhere to applicable industry regulations and standards.<br/>Skills and Qualifications:<br/>•<br/>Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.<br/>•<br/>7+ years of experience in mechanical design within the aerospace and/or defense industry.<br/>•<br/>Proven expertise in designing components involving precision machining, tight tolerances, and high-temperature brazed joints.<br/>•<br/>Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and CNC machining processes (milling, turning, grinding).<br/>•<br/>Proficiency with 3D CAD tools and FEA software.<br/>•<br/>Familiarity with AS9100, ITAR, and aerospace customer specifications.<br/>•<br/>Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.<br/>•<br/>Experience with vacuum or dip brazing process design.<br/>•<br/>Exposure to heat transfer and thermal stress analysis for high-temperature applications.<br/>•<br/>Background in defense contracting or experience working with DoD primes (e.g., Raytheon, Lockheed Martin).<br/>•<br/>Working knowledge of manufacturing process validation and first article inspection (FAI).
