Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Supervisory responsibilitiesThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities.Essential job duties<ul><li>Provide proficient and timely support for analytical techniques including laser diffraction particle size, XRPD, BET surface area analyses and microscopy.</li><li>Perform particle size method development and validation</li><li>Provide technical support to assigned projects using robust scientific practices, which comply with standard operating procedures and scientific standards</li><li>Communicate clearly and accurately with internal and external clients, both verbally and through written data summaries and reports</li><li>Meet timelines for delivering on clients' expectations</li><li>Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation</li><li>Prepare technical documents</li><li>Comply with all cGMP, laboratory SOPs, and company policies and procedures</li><li>Comply with good housekeeping and safety practices according to our Environmental Health and Safety policies</li><li>Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business</li></ul>Education, experience, certification and licensures Required<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Material Sciences or a related science field</li><li>Minimum 2 years' relevant laboratory experience</li></ul>OR<ul><li>Master's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related science field</li><li>Minimum 1 year relevant laboratory experience</li></ul>Preferred<ul><li>Hands-on experience conducting XRPD or particle size analysis (PSA).</li><li>Experience working in a cGMP environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry</li><li>Experience with developing and validating particle size methods in the pharmaceutical industry.</li></ul>Other Qualifications<ul><li>Must pass a background check</li><li>Must pass a drug screen</li><li>May be required to pass Occupational Health Screening</li><li>May be required to obtain and maintain gowning certification</li><li>May be required to obtain and maintain media qualification</li></ul>Knowledge, skills and abilities<ul><li>Familiarity with characterization techniques such as PSA, XRPD, DSC, TGA, 1H NMR, KF, vapor sorption, etc.</li><li>Demonstrate flexibility in organizing work and priorities.</li><li>Good problem solving and decision-making skills.</li><li>Ability to utilize scientific software and learn how to interpret analytical data.</li><li>Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects, and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary project teams.</li><li>Good written and oral communication skills.</li><li>Good problem solving and decision-making skills to identify and solve work related issues.</li><li>Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and the ability to learn other scientific software, as required.</li><li>Good written and oral communication skills.</li></ul>Physical requirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
