You will protect and promote the interests of both Gilbane and the client in all matters as well as demonstrating the personal characteristics of a developing leader. Responsibilities:<ul style="list-style:square;font-family:'calibri' , 'candara' , sans-serif;font-size:11pt;color:#000000"><li>Promotes the Gilbane Cares safety culture</li><li>Ensures contractor activities are preplanned for safety through scope review, preconstruction meetings, JHA review, STAs, etc.</li><li>Ensures contractors meet Gilbane safety submittal requirements</li><li>Ensures contractor compliance with Gilbane safety plan & expectations</li><li>Maintains all safety related documentation</li><li>Makes recommendations concerning situations hazardous to employee safety or health</li><li>Utilizes SafetyNet to audit and monitor project team implementation of the Safety Plan</li><li>Performs at least 15 SafetyNet inspections per month with at least 100 observations in each inspection</li><li>Provides safety training to project teams on Gilbane, client, and OSHA requirements</li><li>Investigates all accidents/near misses and completes all paperwork required</li><li>Ensures project teams have safety equipment and resources</li><li>Serves as project liaison and manages project correspondence with Insurance carriers</li><li>Maintains all safety related documentation</li><li>Coaches and mentors less experienced team members</li><li>Supports a positive and inclusive work environment</li></ul>Qualifications:EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION<ul style="list-style:square;font-family:'calibri' , 'candara' , sans-serif;font-size:11pt;color:#000000"><li>Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety Management or Engineering preferred</li><li>5 years of construction safety management experience</li><li>BCSP credential</li><li>Or equivalent combination of education and experience</li><li>EM385-1-1 40 hour training</li><li>OSHA 30 hours construction</li><li>24 Hours of documented formal, online, or self-study safety and health related coursework in the past 5 years</li><li>Competent Person Training - Fall Protection, Excavation, Scaffolding, Confined Spaces, etc</li></ul>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES<ul style="list-style:square;font-family:'calibri' , 'candara' , sans-serif;font-size:11pt;color:#000000"><li>Proficient knowledge of construction safety principles, techniques, and methods</li><li>Practical knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations, and policies</li><li>Capable of identifying known potential exposures and recommending corrective action</li><li>Strong computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills</li></ul>For Massachusetts this ranges from $112,000.00-$137,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
