Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of the crane and rigging equipment (slings, chains, hooks, etc.) to ensure proper working conditions, identify defects or malfunctions, and report them immediately to a supervisor. As an Overhead Crane Operator, you'll be responsible for the safe and precise operation of an overhead crane to lift, move, and position heavy materials, such as steel plates, beams, and components, within a fabrication environment.
