Reporting to the Medical Director and Assistant Medical Director, the Optometrist will be responsible for but not limited to: Clinical duties Within the scope of optometry, examine eyes, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination, and to diagnose diseases and other abnormalities such as glaucoma or color blindnessCommunicate with patients to get detailed patient history. Offer advice and reassurance about vision-related mattersConsult with and refer patients to an ophthalmologist or other health care practitioner if additional medical treatment is determined necessaryLiaising with other medical practitioners and sometimes sharing the care of patients with chronic ophthalmic conditionsGenerate reports for patients as needed, e.g.
