Residential Specialists may work on service plans, provide advocacy for residents, perform documentation, and perform light maintenance and housekeeping duties. ASCEND offers a comprehensive benefit package including healthcare benefits, retirement plan enrollment, and paid time off including holidays, vacation, personal and sick time.  </div><div> </div><div>A sign-on bonus is available for this position.</div><div> </div><div>Supportive Awake Overnight Residential Specialist Education/Qualification Requirements:</div><ul><li>High School Diploma, or equivalent, with at least two years' experience working in direct service provision in the human services field.</li><li>Valid NYS driver's license acceptable to Agency insurance standards.</li></ul><div>Supportive Awake Overnight Residential Specialist Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to:</div><ul><li>Obtain pertinent information from Residence Counselors when reporting for a shift, and pass on pertinent information to Residence Counselors at the end of shift.</li><li>Assure security of residence throughout shift.</li><li>Completing specified housekeeping tasks</li><li>Complete deep cleaning of the program site as assigned.</li><li>Supervise resident self-administration of medications as indicated by program.</li><li>Be readily available to all residents throughout shift.</li><li>Encourage effective communication, personal and interpersonal awareness and independence among staff and residents.</li><li>Instruct residents in the use of house equipment, safety procedures and routines as necessary.</li><li>Be attentive to the residence and its functioning, make small repairs as needed and inform supervisor of larger maintenance issues.</li><li>Complete appropriate paperwork as necessitated.</li><li>Implement fire drills and report safety concerns to supervisor immediately.*</li><li>Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and required in-service trainings.</li><li>Provide behavioral intervention when necessary and work with residents to utilize self-control/improved coping skills in de-escalation.</li><li>Represent the agency in a positive manner.</li><li>Maintain a safe environment for all clients and staff.</li><li>Maintain effective communication with other staff members and supervisor.</li><li>Preserve human dignity and confidentiality of all clients and act in the best interest of those served through the Agency's programs and services.</li><li>Assure quality of work at all times.</li><li>Adhere to all laws and regulations applicable to the Agency's business.</li><li>Adhere to the Agency's Corporate Compliance Program and established policies and procedures.</li><li>Positively represent the Agency within the community at all times.</li><li>Have adequate computer skills, or more refined for specific job titles.</li><li>Actively participate in scheduled team/staff meetings as scheduled by supervisor or as indicated by the program's services.</li><li>Actively participate in Agency sponsored staff development and in-service educational programs as deemed necessary by supervisor, including mandatory trainings assigned per job title.</li><li>Should be compassionate and demonstrate a commitment to helping people with mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders.</li><li>Must have the ability to work independently, have good problem solving skills and have the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team</li></ul><div>There is a $2/hour shift differential for 11pm-7am.</div>

OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE:Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Psychiatric Medical Team, the Crisis Stabilization Support Worker (CSSW) provides a wide variety of direct client support services to persons admitted into the crisis stabilization facility. CSSW will also assist in basic medical care and be medication trained and then delegated to be able to help check-in admitted client’s medications and help administer those meds while the client is in the program.  MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: DIRECT CLIENT SUPPORT SERVICES: Administration of admissions and discharges once an individual has been accepted into Battelle House. This includes conducting the admission interview and checklist, making sure all forms and releases are signed as well as taking an inventory of personal belongings. While client is admitted the CSSW will provide support and answer questions helping the individual adjust to the house and the program. Assist in helping clients conduct outpatient intakes either in-person or electronically. Along with the Crisis Recovery Specialist, help form and facilitate client groups and morning/evening check-ins.   MEDICAL CARE AND MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION: Provide basic medical care including checking vital signs upon admission/discharge and assisting the UCS nursing and medical staff with other appropriate duties. CSSW will be trained and then medication delegated and assist nursing and medical teams with obtaining and administering medications. This may include helping clients pick up medications. FACILITY DUTIES: Assist Crisis Recovery Specialist Assistant with cleaning and laundry when needed. Help with creating and preparing nutritious meal options for clients and assisting at mealtimes.    CLIENT IDENTIFICATION AND OUTREACH: Provides outreach services to members of the community in need. Provides protection and advocacy of client rights, whenever possible. Provides persons served and families with referral information and assistance to meet needs not assured by our agency. AGENCY PARTICIPATION: Works to ensure the highest quality of services throughout the agency by participation in committees, quality assurance activities, and interdepartmental activities. RECORD KEEPING: Completes clinical and administrative forms in a timely manner for accurate billing, up-to-date clinical records, and appropriate information sharing. Completes all clinical documentation in a professional and timely manner including those required with admissions, discharges, and medication administration.   * In addition to the above, performs other duties as assigned.Requirements:EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, or related field. A minimum of one years’ experience working directly with individuals with mental health issues.Eligible to obtain QMHP certification at any point during employment.
