As the Data Center Logistics Associate position offers an opportunity to play a critical role in the seamless operation of our data center. Daily meals and snacks are provided free of cost.What you'll do on a typical day: Inventory Management <ul><li>Receive, inspect, and accurately record all incoming inventory, including racks & trays, networking equipment, and other hardware</li><li>Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper documentation for all items received and shipped</li><li>Perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies</li></ul>Shipping and Receiving <ul><li>Coordinate with suppliers and carriers to schedule inbound and outbound shipments</li><li>Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packaging for outgoing shipments</li><li>Upload, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and completeness</li><li>Transport inventory by hand using material handling equipment (i.e. pallet jacks) in accordance with all safety procedures and protocol</li></ul>Facility Maintenance <ul><li>Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including storage areas and shipping/receiving docks</li><li>Assist with the disposal of packaging materials and obsolete equipment as needed</li></ul>Compliance and Safety <ul><li>Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment.</li><li>Compile with Data Center security measures and access controls</li></ul>Support and Collaboration <ul><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data center operations, procurement, and technical support, to fulfill inventory and logistics needs</li><li>Provide support for special projects or initiatives as directed by management</li><li>Complete other duties that may be assigned as required with consideration for quality, safety and efficiency</li></ul>Assembly <ul><li>Assist in the setup and installation of computer server racks according to provided instructions</li><li>Help in the assembly of server racks by following diagrams and guidelines provided by senior team members</li><li>Handle basic tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete installation tasks.</li><li>Support senior technicians in cable management and organization within the server racks</li></ul>What you need to succeed at GXO: At a minimum, you'll need:<ul><li>To be at least 18 years of age</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent</li></ul><ul><li>1 year of experience in logistics, inventory management, or related fields</li><li>Familiarity with inventory management systems and software, as well as proficiency in using basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word)</li></ul><ul><li>The ability to do basic math calculations, with and without a calculator</li><li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural documents</li><li>Familiarity with proper lifting techniques and the use of material handling equipment such as forklifts pallet jacks</li></ul>It'd be great if you also have:<ul><li>Additional education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field</li></ul><ul><li>Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and safely in a team setting</li><li>Ensure a positive, respectful, and professional attitude if everything you do</li></ul><ul><li>Availability to work a flexible schedule, including possible overtime when needed </li></ul>This job requires the ability to: <ul><li>Ability to lift and move heavy material and perform physical tasks related to handling server trays and server racks</li><li>Use power equipment to assist the team with safely moving very heavy server racks into position in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines</li><li>Carry objects 3-5 feet weighing up to 50 lbs, routinely</li><li>Stand for prolonged periods of time >4 hours</li><li>Walk continuously for more than 10,000 steps (4-5) miles per day</li><li>Bend, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull objects of various shapes and sizes in team lift.</li><li>Tolerate hot and cold work environments</li></ul>We engineer faster, smarter, leaner supply chains.GXO is a leading provider of cutting-edge supply chain solutions to the most successful companies in the world.
