Ability to perform advanced level life-saving skills as determined by patient condition including the following but not limited to: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway management including emergency airway management, ventilator management with advanced settings, cardiac defibrillation, excessive bleeding control, trauma management including spine stabilization, splinting of limbs, Cervical spine immobilization rapid extrication procedures, chest tube monitoring and management, 12 lead EKG set up, performance and interpretation. The role of a ALS Paramedic builds upon the skills and knowledge base of the advanced life support (ALS) transport Paramedic and acquires a broad and complex field of knowledge and skill that will commensurate with that of a CCP as recognized by the International Board of Specialty Certification (IBSC) Under the supervision of the Medical Director and in collaboration with a Critical Care RN the CCP will provide safe, quality patient care specific to all age groups served.
