With the strength of 4000 people, our growing family of companies now addresses the entire life cycle of power generation and other industrial plants.SummaryThe Manufacturing Production Planner is responsible for managing production scheduling, material planning, and performance tracking in a dynamic manufacturing environment.  Ensure on-time delivery, efficient resource utilization, and alignment between customer demand, supplier commitments, and production capacity.Primary Duties:Production Planning & Scheduling<ul><li>Develop, maintain, and optimize detailed production schedules based on customer demand, forecasts, capacity constraints, and material availability.</li><li>Utilize scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera (P6) to plan, sequence, and track production and refurbishment activities.</li><li>Monitor schedule adherence and proactively adjust plans to mitigate delays and disruptions.</li></ul>Supply Chain & Vendor Schedule Integration<ul><li>Integrate supplier production schedules, delivery commitments, and lead times into the overall manufacturing production plan.</li><li>Collaborate closely with procurement and suppliers to align material readiness with production schedules.</li><li>Track vendor performance and proactively manage risks related to late deliveries, quality issues, or capacity constraints.</li><li>Develop mitigation and recovery plans to address supply chain disruptions and maintain production continuity.</li></ul>Material Planning & MRP Execution<ul><li>Execute material planning using MRP systems to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and subassemblies.</li><li>Analyze MRP outputs and coordinate with procurement to resolve shortages and expedite critical items.</li><li>Balance inventory levels to meet production needs while minimizing excess and carrying costs.</li></ul>ERP System Management<ul><li>Maintain accurate master data in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations).</li><li>Generate and manage work orders, purchase requisitions, and production tracking reports.</li><li>Ensure data integrity to support effective planning, scheduling, and reporting.</li></ul>Project Controls & Earned Value Management<ul><li>Apply Project Management Institute (PMI) earned value management (EVM) principles to track and control production and project performance.</li><li>Monitor and analyze key metrics including:
<ul><li>Cost Performance Index (CPI)</li><li>Schedule Performance Index (SPI)</li><li>Planned Value (PV), Earned Value (EV), and Actual Cost (AC)</li></ul></li><li>Identify variances, forecast outcomes, and recommend corrective actions to maintain cost and schedule performance.</li><li>Provide clear and concise performance reporting to operations and leadership teams.</li></ul>Capacity & Resource Planning<ul><li>Analyze labor, equipment, and facility capacity to ensure achievable production plans.</li><li>Identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions to improve throughput and efficiency.</li><li>Support long-term capacity planning and resource alignment.</li></ul>Cross-Functional Coordination<ul><li>Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to align priorities and execution plans.</li><li>Communicate schedule updates, risks, and recovery strategies to stakeholders.</li><li>Participate in production reviews and planning meetings.</li></ul>Performance Monitoring & KPIs<ul><li>Track and report KPIs including on-time delivery, schedule adherence, cycle time, inventory turns, and resource utilization.</li><li>Integrate operational KPIs with EVM metrics to provide a comprehensive view of performance.</li><li>Drive data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.</li></ul>Continuous Improvement<ul><li>Identify and implement improvements in planning processes, scheduling accuracy, and system utilization.</li><li>Support lean manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives.</li><li>Standardize planning and reporting methodologies across the organization.</li></ul>Working Relationship:The Manufacturing Production Planner reports to Operations Manager/Supply Chain Manager.  Does not have any direct reports.Compensation The initial annual compensation will range from $86,800 to $100,000<ul><li>Years of Experience:<ul><li>Five years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or project controls within a manufacturing environment.</li><li>Experience applying earned value management (EVM) methodologies, including CPI and SPI tracking analysis.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Preferred Experience: <ul><li>Experience in complex or heavy manufacturing environments (e.g., power generation, aerospace, industrial repair).</li><li>Familiarity with integrated project planning in refurbishment or outage environments.</li><li>Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Licenses/Certification: <ul><li>Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)</li><li>APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) (preferred)</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Software/Equipment Knowledge: SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Microsoft Project & or Primavera (P6), Microsoft Excel</li></ul><ul><li>Other Considerations: <ul><li>Strong analytical, quantitative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Attention to detail and accuracy</li><li>Effective communication and cross functional collaboration</li><li>Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Expertise in planning, scheduling, and supply chain integration</li><li>Data-driven decision-making mindset</li></ul></li></ul>Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsThis position may work remote, travel based on business needs.Fit for DutyAll employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program.
