The service offers the full scope of the specialty, including a state-of-the-art stem cell processing facility; a high-volume apheresis service performing red cell exchange, plasma exchange, extracorporeal photopheresis, stem cell collection, and CAR-T collection; participation as a study site in all phases of university- and pharmaceutical-sponsored clinical trials; an active blood donation service with a dedicated GMP laboratory; and a full-service traditional blood bank. The Section of Transfusion Medicine provides comprehensive transfusion medicine and blood banking services in support of a broad and complex clinical enterprise, including a Level I Trauma Center, Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital, and the Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center.
