Any pupil diagnosed as deaf, heard-of-hearing, voice disordered, tongue thrust, or diffluent should be assessed by the appropriate medical specialist, or psychologist prior to further program planning by the Speech, Language and Hearing Specialists. The population to be evaluated shall be children with a wide variety of communicative disorders, referrals from parents, school administrators, teaching personnel, physicians, allied professionals and other interested individuals within the community.
