Vancouver Clinic is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Pathology Coordinator to support the daily administrative function of our Pathology department. This role is essential in maintaining, evaluating, and providing accurate medical pathology documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of anatomic pathology laboratory processes and be able to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and referral laboratories.Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:30am to 6:00pm. This position is on site in the Pathology Laboratory Padden Parkway.Hiring Range: $24/hr to $29/hr depending on experienceEssential Functions and Responsibilities <ul><li>Prepare and format pathology reports; review grossing dictation and description reporting.</li><li>Manage sending/receiving slides and tissue blocks to other laboratories; track outstanding specimens and tissue blocks for retrieval</li><li>Confirm billing codes against patient charts in EPIC; resolve billing errors and assist Pathologists with code identification</li><li>Perform internal pre-authorization process by submitting requests to the referral team</li><li>Transcribe pathology report dictations from Pathologists</li><li>Ensure accuracy and completeness of all pathology reports</li></ul>Skills and Abilities <ul><li>Proficient in medical terminology</li><li>Accurate keyboarding skills (50-60 WPM minimum).</li><li>Scribe / transcription skills.</li><li>Strong communication skills</li><li>Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information</li></ul> Education and Experience <ul><li>Associate's degree in biology or related field (preferred)</li><li>Medical transcription and reporting experience (required)</li><li>Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications (required)</li><li>Billing and coding experience (preferred)</li><li>Minimum two years of experience in a Clinical or Anatomic Pathology Lab (strongly preferred)</li><li>EPIC Beaker experience (preferred)</li></ul>Pay Range: $23.55 - $32.97The above information is intended to indicate the general nature and level of work required in this position. Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.</li><li>Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.</li><li>Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.</li><li>Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.</li><li>Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.</li><li>Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, including but not limited to, hormones and biological growth factors.</li><li>Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.</li><li>Processes instruments and equipment as needed.</li><li>Answers patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.</li><li>Phones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as required or directed by physicians.</li><li>Schedules patient tests, procedures and hospital admissions and schedules appointments to follow-upon test results, as applicable.</li><li>Obtains new patient records and previous test results, x-rays, scans, etc.</li><li>Performs other administrative duties, i.e. typing, filing faxing reception, etc, as requested by supervisor or physician.</li></ul>

Qualifications:
