Job Title: CVICU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour days, weekends as scheduled Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Experience with fresh open heart patients - Experience with patients who are at least 6 hours post-op from open heart surgery - Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) - Temporary pacemaker experience - Pre/post catheterization experience for Acute MI - Experience with mediastinal and chest tubes - Ventilator experience - Hypothermia protocol experience - Experience with arterial lines - Experience with titrating drips including Cardizem, Cordarone, Cardene, Nitroglycerin, Esmolol, Cleviprex, Milrinone, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Lasix, Bumex, Epinephrine, Levophed, Vasopressin, Insulin, Heparin, Aggrastat, Precedex, Propofol, Versed, Fentanyl Description: The unit has 18 beds with a mixed acuity of step-down and ICU status patients. The common diagnoses include atrial fibrillation, heart blocks, bradycardia, NSTEMI, STEMI, cardiac arrest, hyper/hypotension, pulmonary embolisms, cardiogenic shock, heart surgery, heart failure, and thoracic surgery.
