**Job Summary:• The Mechanic services asphalt pavers, rollers, dump trucks, brooms, various other asphalt paving and equipment, and concrete mixers. This includes resolution of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. They inspect, repair, service and maintain gasoline, diesel powered and electronically operated mobile equipment. Skilled in mechanical diagnosis, maintenance and repair qualifying them to work on vehicles and heavy equipment.***Job Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Repairs and maintains asphalt paving and concrete equipment;</li><li>Operates and inspects equipment to diagnose defects;</li><li>Dismantles equipment, machines to gain access to problem area;</li><li>Repairs malfunctioning hydraulic components;</li><li>Diagnoses and correct electrical problems;</li><li>Welds, cuts and fabricates equipment and components;</li><li>Changes oil, etc., checks and changes batteries;</li><li>Performs preventative maintenance;</li><li>Breaks down and reinstalls tires;</li><li>Makes recommendations for equipment to be repaired by outside sources;</li><li>Requisitions parts and equipment;</li><li>Schedules maintenance and tracks equipment maintenance costs;</li><li>Record keeping and reporting;</li><li>Provides general housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe facility;</li><li>Creates work orders;</li><li>Performs computer diagnostics;</li><li>Wears required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times;</li><li>Performs other duties as required or assigned.</li></ul>You should be proficient in:<ul><li>Heavy Equipment Repair</li><li>Maintenance and Repair Skills</li><li>Diesel & Heavy Equipment Systems</li><li>Electrical Systems & Diagnostics (Heavy Equipment)</li><li>Equipment Diagnostics & Troubleshooting</li><li>DOT & Equipment Inspection Compliance</li></ul>
