<h2>Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) </h2>Location: Western Horizon Living Center Position Type: Full-Time (Part-Time Considered) Reports To: Director of Nursing (DON)<h3>Position Summary</h3>Western Horizon Living Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) for our 40-bed skilled nursing facility. This leadership role supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily clinical operations while also functioning as the facility’s Infection Preventionist and Quality Nurse.The ADON plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include supervision of nursing staff, coordination of the Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP), and leadership within the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program in accordance with CMS and state regulations (42 CFR §483).<hr/><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><h4>Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)</h4><ul><li>Assist the Director of Nursing in the overall management and supervision of nursing services.</li><li>Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff, including mentoring, coaching, and performance management.</li><li>Participate in staff scheduling, staffing coordination, and competency validation.</li><li>Conduct rounds to monitor resident care, ensuring adherence to care plans and clinical standards.</li><li>Support hiring, onboarding, orientation, and ongoing education of nursing personnel.</li><li>Serve as acting DON in their absence.</li><li>Promote effective communication among interdisciplinary team members.</li><li>Assist with policy development and implementation consistent with regulatory standards.</li></ul><h4>Infection Preventionist (IP)</h4><ul><li>Lead and manage the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) in accordance with CMS §483.80, CDC, and state guidelines.</li><li>Conduct ongoing infection surveillance, data collection, analysis, and trending of healthcare-associated infections.</li><li>Develop and implement infection prevention policies and procedures.</li><li>Provide staff education and competency validation related to infection prevention practices.</li><li>Oversee outbreak investigation and response, including coordination with public health authorities.</li><li>Monitor antibiotic stewardship initiatives in collaboration with the medical director and pharmacy consultant.</li><li>Ensure compliance with employee health requirements, including immunizations and exposure follow-up.</li></ul>Starting salary range: $33.84 - $41.75Powered by JazzHR

Education: Successfully completed and graduated from an approved school of Ultrasound or radiologic technology and be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Experience: Must have at least 1 year experience in Ultrasound including but not limited to general, OB/Gyn, small parts and some vascular (carotid, venous, ABIs) ultrasound exams.

Position Summary: To safely and efficiently acquire diagnostic ultrasounds and do so in a polite and professional manner. Excellence in Practice:<ul><li>Performs diagnostic ultrasound exams and procedures with correct positioning, technique, and equipment operations. Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.</li><li>Delivers ultrasound exams and procedures in an efficient and timely manner. Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images. Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings. Analyses; sonograms, synthesize sonographic information, medical history and communicates findings to the appropriate physician. Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer’s care.</li><li>Assists Radiologist with procedures, such as biopsies, as necessary. Prepares preliminary reports and contacts referring physicians when required, according to established procedures.</li><li>Reports all equipment problems to appropriate personnel i.e. radiology manager. Assists with the daily operations of the sonographic laboratory. Maintains a daily log of patients seen/completes exam billing forms. Coordinates with other staff to assure appropriate patient care is provided. Reports equipment failures to the appropriate supervisor or staff member.</li><li>Performs related duties as required i.e. filing, answering phones, scheduling patients, ordering supplies, stocking supplies, cleaning, etc.</li><li>Uses proper mode of transport for patients. Organizes daily work schedule and performs related clerical duties as required. Assumes responsibility for the safety and well-being of all patients in the sonographic area/department.</li><li>Cooperates with other personnel in the proper conduct of the department to ensure a smoothly functioning and efficient overall department. Addresses problems of patient care as they arise and makes decisions to appropriately resolve the problems.</li><li>Cooperates in the schedule to ensure sufficient staffing. Coordinates work schedule with Departmental Director and/or scheduling desk to assure workload coverage.</li><li>Assists, as directed by the Radiology Manager, in all phases of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement.</li><li>Administers oral, rectal and IV contrast as directed by radiologist and/or policy demonstrating knowledge of purpose, dosage, route and adverse reactions.</li><li>Cooperates with cross training efforts for other technologists as directed by radiology manager under state and national regulatory rules.</li></ul>Essential Job Requirements: Education:  Successfully completed and graduated from an approved school of Ultrasound or radiologic technology and be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Experience:  Must have at least 1 year experience in Ultrasound including but not limited to general, OB/Gyn, small parts and some vascular (carotid, venous, ABIs) ultrasound exams.  Echocardiography experience a plus.
