Exercises comprehensive functional and industry knowledge in specialized areas; identifies and resolves complex multidimensional business problems; exercises delegated authority over planning, direction and timely execution for a functional area or program; establishes and maintains contacts with management levels within and outside the company and at government agencies and with industry experts in accomplishing function or program objectives. Ensures fleet and plant procedures provide for safe and effective operation and maintenance, including, but not limited to, testing, startup and shutdown and operating equipment in emergency situations; continually promotes and enforces safety practices and ensures all staff are competent in their assigned roles and complete required training; oversees development of safety culture within organization; monitors safety data and trends; oversees root-cause analysis and implementation of mitigation strategies.
