Follows system for tracking and removing outdated medication in the pharmacy and does monthly floor inspections in designated areas of the hospital where medications are stored and removes all outdated medications in these areas also. Prepares IV admixtures/general cart or individual filling of medications for dispensing to be checked by the pharmacist and cleaning of the isolators and medication carts; re-packages medications into unit-of-use packaging as needed.

Position Summary: To assist the Pharmacy Manager and the Staff Pharmacist in the routine tasks associated with the delivery of pharmacy services and to provide technical and clerical support for the Pharmacy Department. Excellence in Practice:<ul><li>Upon patient discharge, reconciles pharmacy charges and the medication administration record.</li><li>Utilizes available programs to maintain pharmacy organization and continuity.</li><li>Processes medication orders from actual copies of original physician's orders or the Emergency Department dispensing information.</li><li>Follows medication and supply ordering and receiving procedures and medication usage patterns to assure the maintenance of adequate inventory levels at all times.</li><li>Provides stock medications to Nursing Services, Ancillary Services and the Clinic Network in a timely and appropriate manner.</li><li>Prepares IV admixtures/general cart or individual filling of medications for dispensing to be checked by the pharmacist and cleaning of the isolators and medication carts; re-packages medications into unit-of-use packaging as needed.</li><li>Follows system for tracking and removing outdated medication in the pharmacy and does monthly floor inspections in designated areas of the hospital where medications are stored and removes all outdated medications in these areas also.</li><li>Participates in the annual physical inventory of all medications at the end of the year.</li><li>Maintains controlled substances in accordance with WRHS policies, NDBOP law, and DEA law.</li><li>Maintains the departmental pricing system and provides price change information to the Pharmacy Manager; maintains the departmental filing and charging system for all accounts.</li><li>Helps collect and compile data for Quality Improvement studies.</li></ul>Essential Job Requirements:<ul><li>Education:  High school diploma, with a strong background in math, typing and computers, also has successfully completed an academic program, or an on-the-job program, approved by the Board of Pharmacy.</li><li>Experience:  Minimum of one year experience is required.</li><li>License Requirements:  Must be a currently registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the North Dakota State Board of Pharmacy</li></ul>Will consider part time or full time. Position Summary: To provide medication delivery services, patient and staff education, and to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy Department. Excellence in Practice:<ul><li>Screen and interprets actual copies of original Physicians orders.</li><li>Dispenses routine, STAT and emergency medications to nursing units in a timely manner.</li><li>IV admixtures are prepared aseptically and are delivered to nursing units in a timely manner.</li><li>Maintains adequate inventories of controlled substances in the Pharmacy & on the nursing units and participates in the biennial inventory.</li><li>Assesses medication usage patterns, ordering quantities adequate to meet demands and prevent shortages & outs.</li><li>Participates in the annual physical inventory of all medications at the end of the fiscal year.</li><li>Takes part in drug usage evaluations and quality improvement activities; prepares & presents material for the P/T Committee if requested to do so.</li><li>Sets priorities & maintains flexibility in order to assure that all daily tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner; arrives to work on time, notifies manager of unplanned absences, requests planned absences in a timely manner.</li><li>Maintains an awareness and knowledge of new drugs & techniques; completes continuing education credits adequate to maintain eligibility for licensure and current CPR certification per facility policy.</li><li>Supervises pharmacy technicians or students in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager and assists in the orientation of newly hired technicians or any students doing their rotation in the Pharmacy.</li></ul>Essential Job Requirements:<ul><li>Education: Requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy.</li><li>Experience: Prior hospital and/or retail pharmacy experience is preferred but not required.</li><li>License Requirements: Must be a currently registered pharmacist in good standing with the Board of  Pharmacy in the state of North Dakota.</li></ul>Powered by JazzHR
