As a Physical Thersapist or Physical Therapy Assistant, you will be working closely with patients each day to assist them as they exercise or practice daily tasks, motivate and encourage them, and correct their posture or form as needed. Mentor and encourage patients going through major life changes, providing positive support, encouragement, and simple advice for their daily lives.

Basic skill in using a variety of office software applications, such as Microsoft Office, Ability to independently facilitate patient care flow by prepping treatment and shower rooms, interpreting therapist or physician schedule; assisting with, patient care activities . ·Assists taking calls from patients, physicians, vendors, GBMC staff; monitoring voicemail; ·Gathering all required documents for ordering appliances and compression garments for patients; follow-up with vendors as needed.

p>The Physical Therapy Assistant administers necessary physical therapy treatment as determined by the supervising physical therapist, for patients suffering from injuries or dysfunction of systems including but not limited to the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, central nervous system, cardiovascular and integumentary systems.
p>Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Patient care Treatment: • Provides objective information for the physical therapist in the accordance with the physical therapy plan of care and goals • Implements treatment in accordance with the plan of care & goals established by the PT Evaluation and documents treatment program and goal progress, consults with the Physical Therapist when changes to plan of care or goals are required • Implements appropriate therapeutic interventions, progressing treatment plan and teaching patients/caregivers activities to reinforce therapeutic interventions, providing/fitting appropriate assistive devices and recognizing patient distress signals, which need follow-up • Documents treatment plans and progress; records data required for statistics, productivity, billing, performance improvement program, etc. Clinical Collaboration: • Informs Physical Therapist, MD, RN and Discharge Planner of patients status and progress towards goals through documentation or direct communication, documents communications with Physical Therapist regarding changes in patient status, treatment plan or discharge plan, communicates equipment needs and any changes/updates to original D/C plan to the discharge planner and RN • Communicates with patient/caregiver to allay anxieties, seek input and elicit cooperation, trains and educates caregivers to assist patients with exercise program, maintain precautions and demonstrate safe functional mobility • Participates in discharge planning with the interdisciplinary team, recommending appropriate assistance and continuation of the rehabilitation process as needed.
Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises, instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily living activities. Communicates and coordinates effectively, both written and verbally, with patients, families, and other team members regarding the patient's overall plan of care.
The PTA will assist in delivering rehabilitation services within a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting, supporting patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role involves implementing therapy treatment plans, assisting with rehabilitation exercises, monitoring patient progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support positive patient outcomes.

Possess the ability to fulfill any office activities normally expected in an office setting, to include, but not limited to: remaining seated for periods of time to perform computer based work, participating in filing activity, lifting and carrying office supplies (paper reams, mail, etc.). The Rehabilitation Aide (equivalent to the rehabilitation technician and physical therapy aide positions) will assist the Patient Experience Coordinator and clinicians by performing requested administrative and clinical duties.
