Participates in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, utilization review, chart audits, laboratory and diagnostic test review, committee assignments, policy development, and performance improvement activities designed to promote safe, effective, and evidence-based patient care. Orders, interprets, and documents laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other diagnostic studies; prescribes medications and therapeutic interventions; initiates specialty referrals when clinically indicated; and maintains accurate, timely, and complete electronic health records.
