Directs patient care by examining, diagnosing and analyzing the patient's current health condition, performing comprehensive admission history and physical exams, consultative notes, admission and discharge summaries, progress notes, writing orders and prescriptions and performing and or assisting with procedures and providing assistance with operative cases per defined scope of practice for specialty area. The physician assistant (PA), under the direction of a supervising physician, will function as an independent healthcare provider working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care in a variety of settings (primary, acute, specialty) while demonstrating a high degree of clinical expertise.
