Active Transportation & Safety Planning o Lead MetroPlan Orlando's pedestrian and bicycle count data collection program, including planning, coordination, deployment/retrieval of count equipment, and data management o Maintain trend data tracking and historic crash typing databases of pedestrian and bicycle crashes in the region o Support and advance regional bicycle and pedestrian safety initiatives o Serve as a subject matter resource on crash data analysis, with emphasis on pedestrian and bicycle safety tools and trends Program & Staff Coordination o Provide oversight as the agency's in-house bicycle and pedestrian planning expert o Coordinate with local governments, FDOT, and regional partners on safety planning efforts Technical Analysis & Studies o Conduct and support special studies, including: trail master plans, feasibility studies, roadway safety audits, and safety-focused planning analyses o Interpret and communicate technical data to inform planning decisions Public Engagement & Agency Coordination o Prepare and deliver presentations to: technical advisory committees, elected officials and policy boards, community groups and the general public o Act as the MetroPlan Orlando liaison for select pedestrian, bicycle, safety and related groups including: Community Traffic Safety Teams, meetings related to FDOT's Non- Motorized Traffic Monitoring program, etc. The ideal candidate is: o Passionate about safe, multimodal transportation systems o Comfortable working with both technical data and public-facing communication o Able to manage projects and programs while also contributing to detailed planning work o Collaborative and effective in working across agencies and disciplines Key Responsibilities: Working under the supervision of the Manager of Project Development, this role will support the agency's safety planning program with a focus on pedestrian and bicycle planning, data analysis, and project management.
