Page 3. •Works throughout the Facility & grounds, both indoors and outdoors.•Moves continually during work hours.•Is subject to frequent interruptions.•Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.•Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset Residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.•Is subject to variable indoor & outdoor temperatures; cold winter/hot summer.•Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.•Is subject to call-back for facility repairs, emergencies (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster) approved by Maintenance Director, Director of Plant Operations, or Administrator only.•Attends and participates in continuing education programs pertinent to this position as required by Facility Policy, every payday & as otherwise scheduled by the Administrator.•Is subject to injury, falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, and other air contaminants.•Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger/handle/grasp/feel; reach with hands & arms, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk or hear.•Utilizes a variety of hand & power tools.•May occasionally be required to work off-ground (e.g., roof inspection).•Is subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals – Personal Protective Equipment supplied.•Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and AIDS & Hepatitis B – Personal Protective Equipment supplied.•Maintains a liaison with the residents, families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for the needs and safety of the residents. Description: Under the supervision of the Maintenance Director, the Maintenance Assistant performs inspection, repairs, routine preventative maintenance, and general upkeep throughout the Facility and grounds.
