This position works closely with borrowers, loan originators, underwriters, closing manager, attorneys, appraisers, and quality control to deliver a smooth and timely lending experience. The Mortgage Loan Processor plays a critical role in guiding mortgage applications from origination through closing by ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

It is expected that all employees will continually strive to improve, by educational resources made available, especially regarding security and compliance procedures.<div style="border-bottom:solid 1.5pt;padding:0in 0in 1pt 0in"></div> Summary:  The Mortgage Loan Processor plays a critical role in guiding mortgage applications from origination through closing by ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with internal policies and regulatory requirements. This position works closely with borrowers, loan originators, underwriters, closing manager, attorneys, appraisers, and quality control to deliver a smooth and timely lending experience. Primary Responsibilities Loan File Management:<ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Review mortgage applications for completeness and accuracy</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Establish and maintain organized loan files from application through closing </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Collect, verify, and upload required borrower documentation including income, assets, credit, liabilities, and property information into the Loan Originations System (LOS)</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Track loan progress and ensure files progress efficiently through each stage of the pipeline  </li></ul><div style="margin-left:8px">Borrower & Third-Party Communication:</div><ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Serve as point of contact for borrowers during the application to closing phase </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Request outstanding conditions and documentation in a professional and timely manner</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Communicate with attorneys, insurance agents, and employers as needed </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Provide regular updates to loan officers, management, and customers regarding file status</li></ul>Underwriting Support: <ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Prepare and complete files for underwriting submission </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ensure receipt of all necessary documentation needed to verify information stated in the loan application and required for underwriting analysis</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Review files prior to closing to help ensure all underwriting conditions and compliance requirements have been satisfied</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ensure conditions are cleared accurately prior to clear to close </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Escalate issues or potential delays to management when necessary</li></ul> Loan Closing Support: <ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Assist as needed, with coordinating closing dates, times, and documentation with attorneys, title companies, borrowers, and loan officers</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Provided needed support in preparing files for closing document generation and funding review</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Help monitor closing pipelines to ensure timely and efficient closings </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Serve as a backup resource for certain closing related administrative functions as needed </li></ul>Compliance & Quality Control: <ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Ensure loan files meet regulatory and disclosure requirements, including TRID and other applicable mortgage regulations </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Verify data accuracy in the LOS</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Maintain confidentiality of customer information and bank records</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Assist with quality control reviews, and post-closing requests as needed</li></ul> Other Responsibilities: <ul><li style="margin-left:12px">Provide backup coverage for other residential loan processing team members and maintain up to date knowledge regarding loan functions </li><li style="margin-left:12px">Assist in preparing, maintaining, and gathering documentation as needed/requested for internal and external audits  </li><li style="margin-left:12px">Other miscellaneous day to day duties as instructed by a manager or supervisor</li></ul> Qualifications: <ul><li style="margin-left:8px">High School diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred</li><li style="margin-left:8px">2+ years of mortgage processing, banking, lending, or related financial services experience </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Strong understanding of residential mortgage documentation and workflow</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Strong verbal and written communication skills</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to prioritize multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Proficiency with Microsoft Office and LOS and lending systems</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Familiarity with Fannie Mae, portfolio, and home equity products</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Knowledge of mortgage compliance regulations and disclosures</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Experience working in a community bank or local lending market, preferred </li></ul> Skills & Competencies: <ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Customer service mindset</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Strong follow up skills </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Accuracy and problem-solving ability</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Time management</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Team collaboration</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Professional communication</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to work independently </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Adaptability and willingness to learn</li></ul>Pay range: $35.90/hr - $46.51/hr Seamen’s Bank is a Federal contractor and an Equal Opportunity Employer.
