Electrical Purchasing Manager Lone Star is looking for a skilled electrical purchaser to buy goods and services necessary for our business operations. The goal would be to raise our profits by making the most high-quality and cost-effective purchases. Primary responsibilities include applying the knowledge of construction & electrical practices, labor costs, and the uses and costs of materials to review project estimates, budgets and production schedules.Daily Activities<ul><li style="line-height:normal">Develop profitable purchasing strategies</li><li style="line-height:normal">Assess supplier profiles and analyze offers</li><li style="line-height:normal">Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics</li><li style="line-height:normal">Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts</li><li style="line-height:normal">Review supplies to ensure quality</li><li style="line-height:normal">Monitor stock levels</li><li style="line-height:normal">Prepare and submit detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures etc.)</li><li style="line-height:normal">Manage change order processing timeliness</li><li style="line-height:normal;background:#ffffff">Ensure change order and supplement compliance</li><li style="line-height:normal;background:#ffffff">Control spending on projects</li></ul><ul><li style="line-height:normal;background:#ffffff">Organize and maintain market-specific vendor and subcontractor lists</li><li style="line-height:normal;background:#ffffff">Ensure projects are managed to profit margin specifications</li><li style="line-height:normal;background:#ffffff">Regular process and progress reporting to senior leaders</li><li style="line-height:normal;background:#ffffff">Plan and perform detailed audits to confirm vendor compliance with contracts, change orders and purchase orders</li><li style="line-height:normal;background:#ffffff">Foster and enhance subcontractor relationships</li><li style="line-height:normal;background:#ffffff">Maintain ongoing communication with project staff with regard to subcontractors' performance</li><li style="line-height:normal;background:#ffffff">Develop comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the contract documents to ensure all procurement requirements within scope are accomplished within budget</li><li style="line-height:normal;background:#ffffff">Become and remain proficient on our services and the associated terminology.</li><li style="line-height:normal;background:#ffffff">Adhere to company employment standards and Best Practices</li><li style="line-height:normal;background:#ffffff">Provide the highest level of internal and external customer service at all times</li><li style="line-height:normal;background:#ffffff">Comply to all company policies and procedures</li><li style="line-height:normal;background:#ffffff">Any other duties as assigned</li><li style="line-height:normal;background:#ffffff">Order Tools & Consumables</li></ul> Position Requirements<ul><li style="line-height:normal">Proven experience as a purchasing agent or relevant role</li><li style="line-height:normal">Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions</li><li style="line-height:normal">Knowledge of market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices</li><li style="line-height:normal">Working knowledge of MS Office and purchasing software </li><li style="line-height:normal">Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li><li style="line-height:normal">A strong analytical mindset</li><li style="line-height:normal">Outstanding organizational skills</li><li style="line-height:normal">3-5 years' experience</li></ul> CompensationCompensation depends on experience. This role focuses on transforming purchase order and supplier data into actionable insights that enable cost control, process efficiency, and improved supplier performance.The intern will analyze purchasing activity, build structured reporting, and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) to help standardize and scale procurement operations. Projects may include spend analysis, supplier scorecards, PO lifecycle tracking, and data cleanup initiatives. This position offers hands-on experience working cross-functionally with planning, operations, and finance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Interns may be assigned to one of three focus areas: flight hardware procurement, non-flight/CAPEX procurement, or materials planning.This is an internship opportunity, and you must be enrolled in the following semester.
