They also serve the role of a Peer Educator. The Promotion and Outreach Peer Educator holds office hours and receives all the training Peer Educators do. The Promotion and Outreach Peer Educator works closely with the Associate Director to identify student needs, coordinate ideas and suggestions, and assemble informational materials to support the St. Olaf College community in matters concerning all nine areas of wellness. The Promotion and Outreach Peer Educator collaborates with the Associate Director, offices on campus, and other student organizations to create promotional materials that are most relevant to the St. Olaf student body. In general, the Promotion and Outreach Peer Educator works approximately five-six hours a week for the Wellness Center. The following describe the most common position responsibilities: <ul><li>Community Education- The Promotion and Outreach Peer Educator oversees the content creation and design of physical/print Wellness Center educational and marketing materials like toilet talks, posters, and brochures.</li><li>Peer Coaching- The Promotion and Outreach Peer Educator provides one-on-one support to help students who have questions or need guidance while at St. Olaf, typically during office hours. These topics can include (but are not limited to) homesickness, roommates, concerns about friends, coming out, consent, and general health and well-being questions. Training occurs throughout the year to help improve the PE's skills and ability to help and support students.</li><li>Professional Development- In order to effectively do the job, Peer Educators are given ample training to ensure they feel confident and equipped to be a resource and mentor on campus. This includes weekly Professional Development throughout the academic year. PEs are paid for all training. It is expected that PEs attend all training, including:</li><li><ul><li>Meet Current Wellness Center Team: TBD</li><li>Summer Bonding Dates: TBD after hire</li><li>Summer Asynchronous Training (10 hours)-TBD after hire</li><li>New Student Orientation & Fall Training: One week before move-in day and the weekend before classes start</li><li>Mental Health First Aid: TBD after hire</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Role Modeling- This position serves as a mentor and teacher to the campus community. As such, the Promotion and Outreach Peer Educator is expected to abide by all College policies and make healthy and informed decisions.</li><li>Administrative- The Promotion and Outreach Peer Educator submits weekly reports and peer support reports as part of their role. In addition, assists the Wellness Center with any duties or tasks related to effective office management.</li><li>Other Responsibilities- Throughout the year, other projects or duties for the Wellness Center may be available. Examples of previous projects include helping to promote the PAW Program and creating stickers. </li></ul> Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills) <ul><li>At least one semester of experience as a Wellness Center Peer Educator or equivalent experience is required.</li><li>Knowledge of design software (ie. photoshop, inDesign). </li></ul> <ul><li>Willingness to continually develop knowledge related to all areas of wellness.</li><li>Desire to work on a team and independently at times.</li><li>Present with genuine sensitivity and concern for others as individuals, as well as a personal and professional commitment that goes beyond outlined responsibilities.</li><li>Good academic and disciplinary standing with the college.</li><li>Preference will be given to applicants who will be on campus for both the fall and spring semesters (this does not include Interim). </li></ul> This job description is for general information purposes. This position reports to the Senior Director of Health Promotion and Counseling and, in collaboration with the Senior Director, advances strategic priorities related to student well-being and prevention. Using a public health and population-based approach, the Health Promotion Program Manager develops innovative, evidence-informed strategies that promote student well-being across multiple domains, including physical, emotional, intellectual, and social health. Health Promotion initiatives are guided by campus data, assessment findings, and student needs, and are regularly evaluated to ensure program effectiveness and impact. This position works collaboratively with the university, community, state, and national organizations to advance prevention efforts and promote a culture of well-being across the St. Thomas campus. The Center for Well-Being is an integrated health center that brings together Health Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, and Health Promotion to support the holistic well-being of the St. Thomas community. The successful candidate will work in support of the University’s Catholic mission and develop and implement policies, programs, services, and best practices aligned with the Principles of Good Practice for Student Affairs at Catholic Colleges and Universities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSLead and Grow the Peer Health Educator Program <ul><li>Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Peer Health Educator (PHE) program, including recruiting, training, supervising, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate peer educators.</li><li>Expand the scope, visibility, and impact of the PHE program as a signature prevention and leadership initiative.</li><li>Develop leadership and professional development opportunities for the PHEs to strengthen their leadership capacity and expand the program’s impact across campus.</li><li>Design and implement a structured peer education curriculum that prepares PHEs to deliver engaging, evidence-informed workshops and outreach that promote multiple dimensions of student well-being, including physical, emotional, intellectual, and social health.</li></ul>Coordinate Violence Prevention Education and Initiatives<ul><li>Develop and coordinate student-facing education and prevention initiatives related to violence prevention, healthy relationships, consent, and bystander intervention.</li><li>Partner with campus departments, including Title IX, Athletics, Dean of Students Office, Residence Life to deliver training and outreach that strengthens student awareness and promotes a culture of safety and respect. Contribute to the university’s compliance efforts related to prevention education requirements.</li></ul>Program Development, Assessment and Strategy<ul><li>Create and present educational programs to diverse campus groups and collaborate on Center for Well-Being-wide events such as FYEX excursions, the Homecoming 5K, and other signature initiatives.</li><li>Contribute to program development, assessment, and strategy by collecting and analyzing participation data, learning outcomes, and campus health indicators, using these insights to continuously refine programs and ensure they effectively advance student well-being.</li></ul>Campus Partnerships<ul><li>Serve as a key collaborator with campus partners to support prevention education aligned with federal compliance requirements (e.g., VAWA, Clery Act, EDGAR Part 86 – DFSA).</li><li>Represent the Center for Well-Being on campus committees and working groups and contribute to university-wide efforts that promote student well-being.</li></ul>Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:
