We are seeking a Criminal Defense Associate Attorney with prior litigation experience who is motivated to grow professionally while playing a meaningful role in a high-performing, growth-oriented practice. This position offers significant courtroom exposure, early responsibility, and the opportunity to contribute to the continued expansion and success of the firm. Key Responsibilities <ul><li> Represent clients in misdemeanor and felony matters in Missouri and Kansas courts </li><li> Manage a full caseload from intake through resolution, including trial preparation </li><li> Analyze cases strategically and execute effective defense plans </li><li> Draft motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda with precision and efficiency </li><li> Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and trials </li><li> Negotiate with prosecutors and manage case progression effectively </li><li> Maintain organized case files and ensure timely movement of matters </li><li> Contribute to overall firm efficiency through strong case management practices </li><li> Collaborate with attorneys and staff to support workflow and operational goals </li></ul>Qualifications <ul><li> Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school </li><li> Licensed and in good standing in Missouri and/or Kansas (additional jurisdictions a plus) </li><li>1–3 years of criminal defense, prosecution, or comparable litigation experience required</li><li> Demonstrated strong work ethic and a high level of accountability </li><li> Ability to manage a demanding caseload with efficiency and attention to detail </li><li> Strong oral advocacy and courtroom presence </li><li> Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills </li><li> Professional judgment and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment </li><li> Interest in contributing to a growing, performance-driven practice </li><li>Fluency in Spanish very desirable </li></ul>Compensation & Benefits <ul><li> Competitive compensation with performance-based incentives </li><li> Health, dental, and vision insurance </li><li> 401(k) with employer matching </li><li> Paid time off and holidays </li><li> Professional, team-oriented work environment </li><li> Modern office space with provided meals and amenities </li></ul>Schedule <ul><li> Full-time, Monday–Friday </li><li> Availability for occasional after-hours consultations</li></ul>
