The Advanced Creative Arts Therapist is specifically trained as an Art, Music, or Dance/Movement Therapist for the clinical use of creative arts or expressive arts therapy interventions with patients of all ages to promote emotional, social, and physical health, to encourage self-expression, and assist patients and families in their coping with illness, injury, disability, and hospital/healthcare experiences. Provides services to patients or family members in group or individual therapy sessions, using developmentally appropriate art/music/movement experiences to assess and meet psychosocial or physical needs as it relates to their illness and/or medical treatment.
