Trauma Level: Facility Specific Job Notes: **Experience and Qualifications Required:** - Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ER of equivalent size - Facility prefers candidates with 5-8 years of experience - Level II or III trauma experience - Recent ER Travel experience (within the past 6-8 months preferred) - Previous charge experience - Preferred experience with Cerner charting system **Certifications Required:** - ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - BLS (Basic Life Support) - PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) - NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) **Skills Required:** - Management of various conditions and procedures such as abdominal pain, acute psychosis, asthma, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, chest tube insertion/management, drug overdose, emergency medications, gunshot wounds, head injury, hyperglycemia, identification/reporting neglect or abuse, infection control, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), dysrhythmia management and interpretation, intubation, isolation precautions/PPE, IV vasopressors, splints management/applying, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure management, managing violent behavior, mental/behavioral health conditions, near drowning, 12 lead EKG/ECG obtainment, poison ingestion, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, psychiatric hold, respiratory infection, seizures, sickle cell crisis, skin disorders, spinal cord injury, IV starting and maintaining, suicidal patient management, traumatic amputation, triage, urinary tract infection. **Patient Age Groups:** - Neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, geriatrics **Other Requirements:** - Must be willing to obtain required certifications if offered - Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed) - Local radius requirement: 50 miles (local candidates not accepted) - Must have an active license before start if licensure is pending - An on-site drug screen required (specific substances listed).
