Under general supervision, the Public Health Nurse performs education, prevention, and follow-up activities related to immunizations, sexually transmitted diseases (STD), childhood lead poisoning, communicable and food-borne diseases, rabies, and non-public school health. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Provides immunization services to infants, children, and adults; responds to questions from medical providers, school/child care staff, and the public about immunizations; maintains vaccine standing orders.
