You will manage content, communications, public relations, and digital efforts while leading a small team and partnering across the organization to elevate Journey Group's visibility and impact.<h3>WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS A MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER?</h3><ul><li>Develop and execute marketing and communication strategies aligned with company goals</li><li>Create and manage internal and external communications across multiple platforms</li><li>Lead content strategy, including website, social media, email, and marketing materials</li><li>Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all channels</li><li>Manage public relations efforts, including media outreach and press releases</li><li>Use data and analytics to evaluate performance and guide strategy</li><li>Collaborate with internal teams to gather and share key information</li><li>Support lead generation and brand awareness initiatives</li><li>Develop crisis communication plans and support issue management</li><li>Oversee marketing projects, timelines, and budgets using project management tools</li><li>Lead and mentor marketing team members, setting priorities and ensuring execution</li><li>Stay current on marketing trends, tools, and best practices</li></ul><h3>EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION NEEDED</h3><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field</li><li>5–10 years of progressive marketing and communications experience</li><li>Experience leading or mentoring a team</li><li>Experience in both strategic planning and hands-on execution</li></ul>Preferred:<ul><li>Graphic design experience</li><li>Photography and/or videography experience</li></ul><h3>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES NEEDED</h3><ul><li>Strong strategic thinking and marketing acumen</li><li>Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills</li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines</li><li>Strong understanding of branding, messaging, and audience engagement</li><li>Analytical mindset with ability to use data to drive decisions</li><li>Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills</li><li>High attention to detail and organization</li><li>Ability to lead as a hands-on, working manager</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and marketing tools</li><li>Familiarity with social media platforms and analytics tools</li></ul><h3>BENEFITS YOU WILL EXPERIENCE WITH JOURNEY GROUP</h3>At Journey Group, we offer competitive pay, annual review with pay increase opportunity, annual bonus potential, and bilingual premium pay. This role will offer hands-on experience with content generation, event coordination, and day-to-day communications operations in a multi-subsidiary organization.Supervisory Responsibilities: Position has no direct reports.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist with social media content creation, scheduling, and monitoring across platforms. • Ensure all communications align with brand standards. • Support the Communications Specialist with organization, project tracking, and day-to-day tasks. • Facilitate coordination between sites or departments - running materials, information, or supplies as needed. • Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing company events, including event day work. • Create and contribute content for newsletters, internal communications, social media, and other platforms. • Help gather photos, stories, and updates from various teams and subsidiaries locally. • Create and execute a media campaign relating to our industry: for example, a running safety campaign with an interesting theme. • Must comply with all company safety and environmental policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA, SDDENR) • Assisting with other duties as required Required Skills/Abilities: • Excellent time management skills • Excellent communication skills • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Self-discipline to operate without supervision. • Software technical skills: Proficient with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and Social Media • High level of integrityEducation and Experience: Currently enrolled in a program for Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
