They ensure patient safety, maintain equipment functionality, and collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver accurate and effective diagnostic results.<h4>Essential Work Functions:</h4><ul><li>Educate patients about imaging procedures and answer questions if they arise </li><li>Prepare and operate advanced radiologic equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images according to physician orders </li><li>Maintain equipment and sterilize the room in which procedure takes place </li><li>Evaluate images for quality, present images and preliminary findings to physicians and health care team </li><li>Maintain and inspect imaging equipment for proper functionality, troubleshooting issues and reporting malfunctions as needed </li><li>Document all imaging procedures and technical details accurately in patient records </li><li>Follow hospital safety rules and procedures including infection control and radiation safety protocols </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of Radiologic Technologist practice</li></ul><h4>Required Essential Skills:</h4><ul><li>Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills </li><li>The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language </li><li>Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills </li><li>Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend </li><li>Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism </li><li>Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment </li><li>Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Responsibilities:
<ul style="margin-top:0in"><li>Performs excellent radiographs with little or no repeat films in a timely manner.  Accurate data with films.</li><li>Is able to work well with all types of patients and presents a friendly professional demeanor.</li><li>Checks orders, organizes paperwork, and presents to Radiologist in a professional and confidant manner.  Verifies all information.</li><li>Informs proper person of needed supplies and keeps rooms stocked and cleaned.</li><li>Obtains accurate phone reports and relays message.</li><li>Performs EKG’s.</li><li>Capable of running own films and utilizes PAC/RIS as needed.</li><li>Fosters a team effort by offering to help with other duties as needed or requested. Use initiative to assist without being asked.</li><li>Merge previous images into the PAC’s. </li><li>Scans previous reports and outside orders into the RIS.</li><li>Calls inside and outside sites to locate prior exams.</li><li>Puts idle time to good use in other areas as needed.</li><li>Exhibits computer systems knowledge and proficiency as necessary to perform job functions.</li><li>Demonstrates the attitudes and behaviors of The South Bend Clinic Service Standards.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned when appropriate.</li><li>Adheres to HIPAA guidelines set forth in Clinic policies and procedures.</li></ul>

Qualifications:
Education/Certification/License:  <ul><li>ARRT Registered Technologist.  </li><li>Radiologic Technologist license in the State of Indiana.  </li></ul>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<ul><li>Must have a good knowledge of general radiology procedures.  </li><li>Should be proficient in the use of computers and digital radiography systems, including RIS and PACS.  </li><li>Must be friendly, attentive, helpful, and show concern for others.  </li><li>Must have a positive attitude/outlook.  </li><li>Must take initiative, be able to problem solve, and be self-motivated.  </li><li>Must consistently meet expectations of patients and/or customers and make satisfaction a top priority. </li><li> Must have good telephone and communication skills. </li><li> Must be able to exhibit tact and professionalism in working with others.  </li><li>Must be a team player and help to work to move the departmental and organizational goals forward.</li></ul>
