Job Title: Commercial Mechanical Superintendent Location: Dothan, AL  Employment Type: Full-time Salary: $72,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year (OTE with bonuses: on average $110,000 - $125,000+ per year) Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Mechanical Superintendent to lead and manage complex HVAC construction projects from initiation through to successful completion. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with exceptional communication skills, a deep understanding of commercial HVAC systems and construction processes, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence and fostering a collaborative, productive work environment.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Project Leadership & Management:<ul><li>Oversee all aspects of commercial HVAC construction projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Develop, implement, and meticulously manage project schedules, coordinating daily tasks and effectively allocating labor and resources to meet critical milestones.</li><li>Proactively identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve complex construction challenges efficiently to maintain project momentum.</li></ul></li><li>Team Supervision & Development:<ul><li>Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and daily supervision to HVAC crews, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.</li><li>Ensure clear and consistent communication within the team and across all project stakeholders.</li><li>Motivate and empower the team to achieve superior workmanship and productivity.</li></ul></li><li>Quality Assurance & Control:<ul><li>Implement stringent quality control measures to ensure all HVAC installations meet or exceed project specifications, industry standards, and relevant codes.</li><li>Conduct regular inspections to verify the quality of work and compliance with design documents.</li></ul></li><li>Coordination & Collaboration:<ul><li>Serve as the primary liaison between field operations, project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.</li><li>Effectively manage and coordinate the activities of various trades and subcontractors to optimize workflow and prevent delays.</li></ul></li><li>Safety & Compliance:<ul><li>Champion a safety-first culture, strictly enforcing all job site policies, procedures, and standards.</li><li>Ensure all on-site personnel comply with OSHA regulations and company safety protocols, conducting regular safety briefings and inspections.</li></ul></li><li>Financial Oversight:<ul><li>Monitor project costs diligently, identify potential change orders, and contribute to managing the project budget effectively to ensure financial targets are met.</li></ul></li><li>Documentation & Reporting:<ul><li>Maintain accurate and comprehensive project records, including daily logs, progress reports, safety documentation, and material usage.</li><li>Provide timely updates and reports to upper management and project stakeholders.</li></ul></li><li>Client Relationship Management:<ul><li>Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.</li></ul></li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Experience:<ul><li>Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Commercial HVAC construction, with a strong focus on installation and project supervision.</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in supervising field employees within the construction industry.</li></ul></li><li>Technical Expertise:<ul><li>In-depth understanding of mechanical systems, particularly commercial HVAC systems (installation, maintenance, troubleshooting).</li><li>Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical manuals, and project specifications.</li></ul></li><li>Leadership & Management Skills:<ul><li>Exceptional leadership and supervisory abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to motivate, manage, and develop a high-performing team.</li><li>Strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of quickly identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.</li></ul></li><li>Communication:<ul><li>Superior verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with all levels of stakeholders, from field personnel to senior management and clients.</li></ul></li><li>Safety Acumen:<ul><li>Comprehensive knowledge of construction safety regulations and standards, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.</li></ul></li></ul>Benefits: We value our employees and offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and professional growth:<ul><li>Competitive Salary with Bonus Opportunities</li><li>401(k) with Company Matching</li><li>Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance</li><li>Paid Time Off (PTO) </li></ul> The compensation for this position is expected to be a base range of $72,000 - $85,000 per year. This is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law.
