We are the world's largest producer of sustainable wood pellets, which provide a low-carbon alternative to fossil fuels.</div> Responsibilities<ul><li>Identify workplace hazards and work with plant staff to mitigate/abate these hazards</li><li>Work closely with Plant Manager to understand company needs and mission.</li><li>Work closely with Plant team and corporate resources to continuously improve EH&S programs.</li><li>Provide safety training to all employees, contractors, and vendors as required.</li><li>Lead Safety Committee meetings.</li><li>Perform EH&S compliance audits/assessments of facility and contractor work activities.</li><li>Effectively communicate with contractor teams to create a documented safe work plan.</li><li>Provide prompt documentation of assessment findings, observations, and recommendations.</li><li>Conduct investigations of Health & Safety incidents to include root cause analysis.</li><li>Implement safe work practices and behaviors to achieve ZERO incidents/accidents (TIR).</li><li>Ensure employees', contractors', and vendors' work practices are in regulatory compliance with applicable regulatory agencies, as well as with company standards and policies.</li><li>Provide subject matter expertise in technical areas to include OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NEC, NIOSH, ANSI, and ASTM.</li></ul>Qualifications <ul><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience leading EHS in a manufacturing setting</li><li>Identify workplace hazards and work with plant staff to mitigate/abate these hazards.</li><li>Work closely with Plant Manager to understand company needs and mission.</li><li>Ability to influence Plant Manager, supervisors, and team leaders to lead with safety</li><li>Provide EHS training to all employees, contractors, and vendors as required.</li><li>Lead Safety Committee meetings.</li><li>Lead the locations Emergency Response Team</li><li>Perform EH&S compliance audits/assessments of facility and contractor work activities.</li><li>Effectively communicate with contractor teams to create a documented safe work plan.</li><li>Provide prompt documentation of assessment findings, observations, and recommendations.</li><li>Conduct investigations of Health & Safety incidents to include root cause analysis.</li><li>Implement safe work practices and behaviors to achieve ZERO incidents/accidents (TIR).</li><li>Ensure employees', contractors', and vendors' work practices are in regulatory compliance with applicable regulatory agencies, as well as with company standards and policies.</li><li>Provide subject matter expertise in technical areas to include OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NEC, NIOSH, ANSI, and ASTM.</li></ul>Previous certification in the regulatory topics below:<ul><li>Combustible Dust</li><li>Accident Prevention</li><li>First Aid/CPR/AED and Bloodborne Pathogens</li><li>Confined Space</li><li>Lockout</li><li>Electrical Safety</li><li>Emergency Response</li><li>Fire Prevention</li><li>Hazard Communication</li><li>Material Handling</li><li>Hearing Conservation</li><li>OSHA Recordkeeping</li><li>Personal Protective Equipment</li><li>Power Tool Use and Guarding</li><li>Respiratory Protection</li><li>Crane/Hoist/Rigging Safety</li><li>Welding/Hot Work</li><li>Incident Investigation</li><li>Working from Heights</li><li>Working and Walking Surfaces</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications - What Will Set You Apart<ul><li>OSHA 30 Hour-General Industry</li><li>OSHA 30 Hour-Construction</li><li>NFPA 70e</li><li>Root Cause Analysis (Cause Mapping/Taproot etc.)</li><li>Experience in leading culture change</li><li>Certified Safety Professional (CSP)</li></ul>Working Conditions<ul><li>Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees </li><li>Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment </li><li>Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.</li></ul>#LI-KM2<div class="content-conclusion">This position is not eligible for visa support.EEO Statement Enviva is dedicated to the principles of equal employment opportunity (EEO) in any term, condition or privilege of employment.
