Job Knowledge: Knowledge of State, Federal and local safety laws and codes; knowledge of engineering principles and methods as they relate to accident prevention, safety, and education; knowledge of consultive procedures and reporting requirements; knowledge of training methods, practices and resources; ability to interrogate individuals and to evaluate information obtained; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with persons contacted in the course of the work; skill in the use of a variety of camera equipment; knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance; knowledge of blueprints, mechanical drawing and engineering plans. Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you; ability to identify and understand the speech of another person; ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences; ability to write and speak effectively with fellow employees, City Council, and the general public; read in English; apply common sense understanding to the work process, procedures, programs and services; provide and follow verbal and written instructions; ability to work as a member of a team in order to accomplish tasks; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
