Shift: 9 am - 5:30 pm Mon-Fri + rotating weekends and holidays Description:<ul><li>The Patient Access Scheduler is responsible for performing clerical and reception duties related to patient scheduling and registration. </li><li>This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and requires the ability to manage a high volume of calls while navigating multiple systems in a fast paced healthcare environment. </li><li>The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer focused, and an effective communicator.</li></ul>Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Serve as the first point of contact for patients via phone or in person.</li><li>Handle a high volume of incoming calls while providing exceptional customer service.</li><li>Schedule patient visits and procedures for multiple hospitals and outpatient centers, coordinating with various departments and adhering to clinical protocols.</li><li>Respond to patient questions and concerns and direct them to the appropriate department or location.</li><li>Maintain ongoing communication with clinical staff regarding real time patient status.</li><li>Collaborate with physicians, medical staff, and associates to optimize scheduling efficiency and effectiveness.</li><li>Multitask across multiple technology systems to complete scheduling and registration functions.</li><li>Collect and accurately enter patient demographic, clinical, billing, and insurance information.</li><li>Provide patient education by explaining preparation instructions and procedural guidelines according to scheduling protocols.</li><li>Inform patients of potential co pays and deductibles due at the time of service.</li><li>Review and analyze financial information in the registration system and communicate details to patients and the business office.</li><li>Communicate effectively with physicians, physician offices, ancillary departments, nursing units, and patients.</li><li>Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.</li></ul>Top 3 Hard Skills:<ol><li>Medical/Health Administration</li><li>Customer Service</li><li>Not afraid to ask for payments</li></ol>Required Qualifications:<ul><li>High school diploma or GED</li><li>Minimum of one year of call center experience</li><li>Strong attention to detail</li><li>Proven customer service experience</li><li>Ability to multitask and navigate multiple computer systems simultaneously</li><li>Ability to manage a high volume of incoming calls</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Experience working in a hospital or medical environment</li><li>Working knowledge of medical terminology</li></ul>Physical Requirements:<ul><li>Ability to see, read, and operate computers, telephones, office equipment, documents, and labels, including frequent use of hands and fingers.</li><li>Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods while performing work-related tasks.</li><li>Frequent verbal communication with patients, providers, associates, and visitors, including the ability to hear and understand spoken information quickly and accurately.</li><li>Manual dexterity to manipulate equipment with precision, including frequent keyboarding and computer use.</li><li>Ability to walk and assist with transporting or ambulating patients and distributing supplies and equipment, including pushing or pulling gurneys and portable equipment weighing over 5 lbs.</li></ul> #TB_PH
